Feared Zamfara bandit commander Bello Kaura killed in troops ambush

The reign of terror led by infamous bandit commander Bello Kaura has come to an end following a successful military ambush in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to security analyst Bakatsine, who disclosed the development via his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, the operation was carried out early Tuesday morning by troops of the Nigerian Army targeting Kaura’s camp.

“Yesterday morning, the Nigerian Army launched an ambush on Bello Kaura’s camp in Anka LGA, Zamfara State.

“During the operation, they eliminated several bandits, including the notorious leader, Bello Kaura, who had long terrorized the people of Anka,” Bakatsine wrote.

The late Kaura was infamous for leading violent attacks and kidnappings in the area, instilling fear across communities in Zamfara for years.

The army’s operation is seen as a major breakthrough in the fight against rural banditry in the Northwest.
