The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area, leading to the rescue of ten people, including three children.

According to the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, three individuals were arrested in connection with the illegal operation, which came to light after a tip-off last Saturday.

The primary suspect, Mariam Vincent (35), was apprehended alongside two accomplices, Orie Ruth (23) and Ujunwa Ifeanyi (18).

During the operation, officers rescued seven women and three children, including a 7-year-old, 5-year-old, and a 2-year-old.

The adults rescued were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26), while the children were named Destiny, Miracle, and Success.

Investigations revealed that the suspects had kidnapped the victims from different locations across Lagos for the illegal baby-making operation.

The authorities are continuing their investigation, and the suspects will face charges in court.

In addition, police successfully freed two individuals who had been abducted in the Igbe Alagemo area of Ijede, Ikorodu, during a raid on March 26, 2025.

The victims were taken hostage after the kidnappers killed a guard dog and seized two individuals from separate homes.

The victims were rescued three days later on March 29, and authorities are still working to apprehend those responsible.
