NAF airstrikes destroy bandits hideouts, kill scores in Katsina

Airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) targeted a notorious bandit camp in Malam Aibo, located within the Tsaskiya forest of Katsina State, on Monday night, in a renewed effort to curb insecurity in the region.

Bakatsine, a northern-based security analyst, disclosed the development via his verified Twitter handle on Monday morning.

“GOOD NEWS: Yesterday night, NAF airstrikes hit Malam Aibo camp in Tsaskiya forest, Katsina State,” he wrote, applauding the military for its precision strike against criminal elements terrorizing local communities.

In a separate incident, police operatives from the Dutsin-Ma Division successfully rescued several women abducted by gunmen in the Wawaye community.

The quick intervention reportedly disrupted the attackers’ plans and forced them to abandon their captives.

“Kudos to the Dutsin-Ma Police Division for rescuing kidnapped women in Wawaye! Their quick response forced the bandits to flee the community,” Bakatsine added.

Residents of the area have welcomed the recent actions by security forces, describing them as timely and commendable.

Many hope that the momentum is sustained to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.

Katsina, like several parts of the North-West, has continued to experience attacks from armed groups, prompting calls for intensified counterterrorism efforts.
