The Lagos State Police have uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area and rescued 10 individuals, including seven adult women and three children.
Three suspects were arrested in connection with the operation.
According to Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, the raid was conducted after a tip-off was received last Saturday.
Officers arrested the main suspect, 35-year-old Mariam Vincent, along with 23-year-old Orie Ruth and 18-year-old Ujunwa Ifeanyi.
The victims, aged between 22 and 26, included three children—Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2). All the rescued individuals are currently receiving medical care and support.
Hundeyin added that the suspects confessed to abducting the women and children from various locations across Lagos to run the illegal facility.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects are set to face prosecution.
In a separate update, Hundeyin reported the arrest of 39 individuals over the past two weeks for crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, and illegal possession of firearms.
Additionally, two kidnapped victims were rescued in the Igbe Alagemo community of Ikorodu.
The abduction took place on March 26, when armed kidnappers killed a security dog and abducted 40-year-old Dare and 25-year-old Rodiat from their homes.
After three days of coordinated efforts between police and local security, the victims were freed on March 29 and reunited with their families.
Authorities continue to monitor the area and conduct investigations.
