A deadly raid by suspected bandits has left the Keta community in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area reeling in shock and devastation.
The attackers invaded the village in broad daylight, torching several properties and leaving one person dead in the aftermath of the violence.
Security expert Bakatsine, who shared details of the incident on his verified X handle on Sunday, disclosed that the assailants destroyed no fewer than 11 vehicles and three commercial shops before fleeing the area.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but it has further highlighted the deteriorating security situation in parts of Northern Nigeria.
“In broad daylight, bandits attacked Keta community in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, setting 11 vehicles and three shops ablaze. Tragically, one person lost his life,” Bakatsine posted.
The attack has sparked renewed calls from residents and stakeholders for urgent government intervention, as many communities in Zamfara continue to suffer repeated assaults from heavily armed groups.
While the identity of the victim has not been confirmed, local sources say several people were injured and properties worth millions destroyed.
Authorities are yet to comment officially, but security operatives have reportedly launched an investigation to track down the perpetrators.
