Notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji kills 11 farmers in Sokoto attack

Kachalla Bello Turji, a bandit leader, has reportedly killed 11 farmers in a deadly assault on Lugu town, located in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The attack took place in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving residents in shock and mourning.

Sources disclosed that Turji, who was returning from a Sallah visit to a community in Isa, launched the brutal attack on unsuspecting locals.

Basharu Altine Giyawa, a resident of Isa, revealed that the community had received intelligence about Turji’s planned visit to the eastern part of Gatawa in Sabon Birni Local Government Area as early as Saturday.

Despite this, the authorities were informed, yet no preventive measures were taken, leading to the tragic loss of lives.

“We were informed that Turji would be visiting this area. We immediately alerted the relevant authorities, but nothing was done,” said Giyawa.

AFRIPOST reports that Turji, known for his violent reign of terror across the northwestern states, has been linked to numerous attacks, including mass kidnappings, killings, and cattle rustling.
