The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has congratulated Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on his victory at the governorship election tribunal, which upheld his win in last September’s election.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike described the ruling as a reaffirmation of the mandate freely given to Okpebholo by the people of Edo State.
He urged the governor to remain focused on delivering good governance and not to be distracted by those seeking power “through the back door.”
“This victory is for the people of Edo State who voted for Governor Okpebholo. It is a further confirmation of their choice, and I encourage him to stay committed to serving the people,” Wike stated.
Expressing confidence in Okpebholo’s leadership, the FCT Minister praised his early steps in governance and expressed optimism that his administration would bring significant development to Edo State.
“I believe in his leadership, and from the way he has started, I am confident that his government will positively impact Edo State and its people,” Wike added.
