Senator Natasha alleges assassination plot by Akpabio, Yahaya Bello

Suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of conspiring to assassinate her.

During a homecoming event on Tuesday, where she was warmly received by her supporters, Akpoti-Uduaghan made the startling claim, stating that while the plot was not publicly disclosed, the Nigeria Police Force had been informed.

She alleged that Akpabio initiated efforts to recall her from the Senate, reportedly after promising financial backing to the former governor.

Detailing the alleged conspiracy, she stated, “On the 13th of March at 10:00 pm—just two days earlier, Akpabio had called Governor Ododo, instructing him to start my recall process, but Ododo declined, saying it was impossible because the people stood with me.”

According to her, Akpabio then reached out to Bello, who was asked not only to facilitate the recall but also to eliminate her.

“The meeting had two objectives—first, to begin my recall, which he was to finance, and second, to have me killed,” she alleged.

She further claimed, “I chose not to disclose this publicly, but I have formally written to the Inspector General of Police.

“Akpabio instructed Bello that if he were to carry out the killing, it should not happen in Abuja but here, to make it seem like it was orchestrated by the people.”
