No one can stop my return home – Natasha defies Kogi Gov’s ban

Must read

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has boldly stated that she will not be prevented from visiting her hometown in Okehi, Kogi State, despite the political rally ban imposed by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo.

Responding to the governor’s proclamation, Akpoti-Uduaghan affirmed her commitment to attending the Sallah celebrations, insisting that her connection to her homeland is unshakable.

She proudly identified as an Ebira woman and the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti, emphasizing that she would not be intimidated or deterred.

“As an Ebira woman, this is my land. I’m the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know my heritage, and I am not a bastard, nor am I afraid of anyone,” Akpoti-Uduaghan declared during her homecoming event.

Earlier, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police had urged Akpoti-Uduaghan to cancel her planned rally, warning that it violated the governor’s order and could disturb public peace.

He also cited intelligence reports suggesting the potential for the event to attract miscreants.

Additionally, Amoka Monday, the Local Government Chairman of Okehi LGA, imposed a curfew in the region, cautioning that any unauthorized gatherings would lead to arrests and prosecution.

Despite these concerns, Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her plans to go ahead with her homecoming and made it clear that should any violence erupt, she would hold the Kogi State Governor, the Police, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio accountable.
