Social Democratic Party (SDP) chieftain and 2023 presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has declared his readiness to set aside his ambition for the 2027 presidential election if a more suitable candidate emerges from his party.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Inside Sources, Adebayo emphasized his belief in divine will, stating, “Everybody knows I have an aspiration.
“I’m working on it, but God is the author of tomorrow; we don’t even know who will be around in 2027.”
He stressed that his priority is Nigeria’s progress rather than personal ambition.
“If there is someone God believes is better suited to fix Nigeria’s problems, my ambition should not stand in the way. We want a country that works,” he added.
Adebayo reaffirmed that the SDP is committed to presenting a strong candidate capable of challenging President Bola Tinubu in 2027, ensuring that Nigerians have a credible alternative.
