Popular social media commentator, Martin Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan has raised alarm over how EFCC treated and detained a woman opposite the house of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike in Guzape.

The online activist noted that the woman, said to be about 80 years old, is the mother of Aisha Suleiman Achimugu, a socialite whom the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared wanted for money laundering and conspiracy just hours earlier.

VeryDarkMan shared a video showing EFCC officials denying access to a man suspected to be a close relative of the wanted Achimugu. He also narrated that the video captured the anti-graft agency instructing the elderly woman to sit on the floor in the evening.

VeryDarkMan questioned the practice of arresting family members as bait to apprehend suspected offenders, describing the agency’s actions as unprofessional and inappropriate.

AFRIPOST gathered that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, through a news release and posts on all social media platforms on Friday, declared businesswoman and socialite Aisha Achimugu wanted.

The agency’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, further stated that Achimugu, 51, an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, whose last known address is 6C Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja, is wanted by the agency in connection with an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
