President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new management teams for the 12 River Basin Development Authorities, aiming to enhance the efficient utilization and management of Nigeria’s water resources for national development.
The announcement, made by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), lists new chairpersons, managing directors, and executive directors for finance, engineering, agriculture, and planning across the various basins.
The appointments span all six geopolitical zones, covering states such as Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi, Borno, Edo, Rivers, Kaduna, Kwara, Benue, Anambra, Kano, Cross River, Sokoto, and others.
Among the key appointees are Odebunmi Olusegun as Chairman of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Sanusi Mohammed Babantanko for the Upper Benue River Basin, and Abdu Dauda leading the Chad Basin Development Authority.
Other notable appointments include Mike Ohio Ezomo for Benin-Owena, Ebikemi Boi Bosin for the Niger Delta Basin, and Haruna Y. Usman for the Upper Niger River Basin.
