Rivers State Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has tasked the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ibibia Worika, with the responsibility of restoring public trust, law, and order in the state.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Ibas highlighted the need for policies and decisions that align with his administration’s objectives.

He urged the SSG to work towards stabilizing the political environment and creating the foundation for the revival of democratic institutions.

“Rivers State requires your intelligence, determination, and unwavering commitment. Together, we will usher in a new era of progress,” Ibas stated.

Emphasizing the urgency of Worika’s assignment, Ibas called on him to engage with civil servants, whom he described as key stakeholders in governance.

He stressed the importance of maintaining an effective administrative structure during the transition period.

Reaffirming his commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective leadership, Ibas encouraged the new SSG to carry out his duties with dedication. He also urged permanent secretaries and civil servants to work in collaboration with the government to achieve shared developmental goals.
