Security operatives in Plateau State have apprehended a suspected kidnapper and confiscated a cache of ammunition in Kabwir Community, Kanke Local Government Area.
The Plateau State Police Command disclosed that officers acted on credible intelligence received around 10:40 p.m. on March 25, 2025, indicating that the suspect was staying at a hotel in the area.
Following the tip-off, a police team, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kanke, moved to the location and arrested 25-year-old Auwal Haruna, a resident of Kaduna State.
A thorough search of Haruna’s possessions resulted in the discovery of 51 rounds of 7.62x51mm ammunition, 14 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, an AA cartridge, an empty AK-47 magazine, assorted charms, and other suspicious items.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter and are intensifying efforts to track down Haruna’s accomplices.
