Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has distributed 2,400 bags of grains to her constituents to ease the burden of purchasing food during Ramadan.
In a statement released by her Chief Press Secretary, Israel Arogbonlo, the senator emphasized that the initiative aims to support the people of Kogi Central regardless of political affiliation.
Represented by Abdulrahman Badamasiu, she announced the distribution of 1,200 bags of beans and 1,200 bags of millet across all 57 wards in the district. Beneficiaries include religious organizations, market women, community forums, and party supporters.
Badamasiu noted that the distribution was initially delayed due to unforeseen circumstances but assured constituents that the senator remains committed to their welfare. He urged them to pray for her, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan.
He also addressed concerns regarding her suspension, stating that it does not affect her mandate as a duly elected senator. He highlighted her achievements within a year in office and reaffirmed her dedication to empowerment initiatives.
According to him, training and empowerment programs will continue, with a new batch of constituents set to undergo skills training in the coming weeks as part of Senator Natasha’s drive to create employment opportunities.
This distribution comes amdist the sexual allegations against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
