Ondo police denies allegation of theft by officers

The Ondo State Police Command has dismissed allegations that its officers, deployed on a special intervention mission in Idogun, were involved in stealing from a mobile phone shop.

In a statement released yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, labeled the claim as misleading and lacking factual basis.

She explained that an investigation involving traditional rulers, community leaders, and officers on duty revealed that no mobile phone shop exists in Idogun, making the allegation unfounded.

The command advised anyone with legitimate complaints to follow due process by submitting a formal petition to the Commissioner of Police’s office, along with supporting evidence, to allow for a thorough investigation.

Reiterating its dedication to justice and maintaining public trust, the command also shared official contact details for further inquiries.
