NAF airstrikes devastate ISWAP hideouts in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants, executing targeted airstrikes in Borno State.

According to intelligence sources cited by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, NAF fighter jets launched an attack on March 22, striking ISWAP strongholds in Chilaria, a notorious insurgent enclave within the Timbuktu Triangle, south of Borno.

The operation reportedly resulted in the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of four Hilux trucks used for their activities.

A day earlier, on March 21, NAF aircraft carried out another precision strike in Abbaganaram, demolishing two ISWAP vehicles and a weapons storage facility, Makama reported.

These latest air operations are part of the broader Desert Sanity 4 counter-insurgency campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and securing gains for ground troops.

Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions continue to play a crucial role in ensuring accurate targeting of insurgent assets.

NAF’s Air Component remains committed to maintaining pressure on ISWAP, providing close air support, and weakening the group’s operational capabilities.
