Must read

A peaceful night of Tahajjud prayers turned into a nightmare for 28-year-old Usman Mohammed, who was brutally stabbed to death during an attack on a mosque in Kaduna State.

The incident took place on Friday around 2 p.m. at Layin Bilya, Makwa Road, in the Rigasa-Tudun Wada area.

Worshippers had gathered for the special late-night prayers when a group of assailants stormed the mosque, disrupting the sacred moment with violence.

According to Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson Mansir Hassan, the attackers came from Malalin Gabas, Tudun Wada, Rafin Guza, and Unguwar Baduko.

By the time security forces and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force arrived, Usman had already lost his life to fatal stab wounds.

Police swiftly arrested 12 suspects, who later admitted to their involvement in the attack. Several weapons were also recovered from them.

A full investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack and ensure justice for the slain worshipper.

In response to the tragedy, the Kaduna State Police Command has intensified security around mosques and key areas to prevent further incidents.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, warning that anyone caught engaging in criminal acts will face severe legal consequences.
