For the North Central region, the agency anticipates sunny conditions with scattered clouds, while isolated thunderstorms may occur in parts of Kogi and Benue states.

The southern region is expected to have a mix of cloudy and sunny conditions, with morning thunderstorms likely in parts of Cross River, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states.

Thunderstorms may also develop later in the afternoon and evening over areas such as Imo, Abia, Enugu, Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Lagos states.

By Saturday, moderate dust haze is expected over parts of Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Adamawa, and Bauchi states, while other parts of the northern region will continue to experience sunny and hazy conditions.

The North Central region is forecasted to have sunny skies with patches of clouds, whereas the southern region will remain partly cloudy with potential afternoon or evening thunderstorms over Ogun, Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Lagos states.

On Sunday, moderate dust haze is expected to persist in the northern region.

The North Central zone will continue to experience sunny conditions with patches of clouds, while the southern region will see a mix of sunshine and clouds, with the possibility of afternoon or evening thunderstorms in Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Lagos states.

NiMet also cautioned that high temperatures in many parts of the country could lead to heat stress, advising residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and remain in well-ventilated spaces.

The agency further warned individuals with respiratory issues, particularly in the northern region, to take necessary precautions. Additionally, it noted that thunderstorms in some areas may be accompanied by strong winds.

NiMet advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather updates for proper flight planning and urged the general public to stay informed through its regular forecasts.
