NAF strikes terrorist base in Mandara mountain

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of Operation Hadin Kai, has carried out a precision airstrike on a terrorist stronghold in the Mandara Mountains, targeting locations in Chikide and Degbewa, Borno State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, NAF confirmed that the nighttime attack was aimed at disrupting insurgent activities in the difficult terrain, dealing a significant blow to their operations.

According to intelligence reports, the site served as a key assembly point for insurgents, including a notorious commander, Ali Ngulde, and his fighters, who were reportedly meeting to plan attacks.

Surveillance data also revealed that the location contained fortified structures with solar-powered installations.

Based on this information, NAF executed a surprise nighttime airstrike, destroying the terrorists’ command center and logistics hub. The operation resulted in extensive fires that razed multiple structures and eliminated a significant number of insurgents.

NAF emphasized that the successful strike has weakened the terrorists’ operational capabilities, allowing ground forces to move in and assert control over the area.

“This operation demonstrates the NAF’s enhanced ability to conduct both day and night missions, ensuring that insurgents can no longer operate freely under the cover of darkness,” the statement read.

The Air Force reiterated its commitment to sustained aerial operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring long-term security in the region.
