Katsina: 70-year-old man arrested for assisting kidnappers

Must read

A 70-year-old man, identified as Malam Danlami, has been taken into custody by vigilante operatives in Katsina State for allegedly collaborating with kidnappers.

Danlami was arrested by members of the Community Watch in Dutsinma Local Government Area after intelligence reports linked him to criminal activities in the region.

According to reports, the suspect, a resident of Turare village, admitted to assisting a notorious bandit leader known as Alhaji Kudi in abducting five women.

He allegedly guided the kidnappers to the victims’ homes before they were taken away to the forest.

AFRIPOST reports that the arrest has shown growing concerns over local complicity in the escalating wave of kidnappings in Katsina and other parts of Northern Nigeria.

Security agencies and vigilante groups continue to intensify efforts to curb such activities and dismantle networks enabling banditry.

Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to determine the extent of Danlami’s involvement and any potential links to other criminal operations.
