Fatai Odunsi, father of popular Afrobeat star, Asake, has revealed that the artiste has promised to settle his hospital bills and even buy him a house on Lagos Island.
This development comes just days after Mr. Odunsi went public, seeking financial assistance, claiming he was suffering from a stroke and that Asake had ignored his calls since 2022. The revelation stirred controversy, as Asake responded by accusing his father of trying to chase clout, insisting that he regularly sends him money but that “humans are never satisfied.”
Amid the dispute, Mr. Odunsi and other family members further escalated the situation by sharing a video of Asake’s alleged baby mama and an 11-year-old daughter named Zeenat, fueling more speculation.
However, in a new interview with Mr. Lilgaga, Asake’s father confirmed that he has finally spoken with the singer, and all issues have been resolved.
“Asake has started fulfilling all his duties to me as my son. He said they should start looking for a house to buy for me on the Island, and for the past 24 hours, they have been searching. We have settled our grievances, and there’s no problem anymore. He will also take full responsibility for his child, and my hospital bills are covered.”
While confirming their reconciliation, Mr. Odunsi also expressed his initial frustration, blaming Asake’s mother for not encouraging him to check on him or cater to his needs.
