Africa holds no significance in Trump’s agenda – Shehu Sani

Former senator Shehu Sani has stated that no African nation holds any real importance in President Donald Trump’s priorities.

Sani argued that if Trump could make harsh remarks and take unfriendly actions against close neighbours like Canada and Mexico, then African countries would be even less relevant to his agenda.

Commenting on X, Sani referenced the recent expulsion of South Africa’s ambassador from the U.S., saying, “If Trump can say and do negative things to Canada and Mexico, no African country is that important in his agenda.”

His remarks follow an announcement by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday, confirming that Trump’s administration had expelled South Africa’s ambassador in Washington.

Rubio justified the decision by accusing the envoy of being hostile toward both the U.S. and President Trump.

“South Africa’s Ambassador to the United States is no longer welcome in our great country,” Rubio wrote on X.
