A 22-year-old woman, Zainab Ibrahim, was brutally murdered in her home in Hadejia, Jigawa State, just five weeks after her wedding.
She was found with a deep wound on her throat, sparking a police investigation into the killing.
According to intelligence sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of March 13 in Warware Quarters.
A resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, said neighbors discovered the victim in a pool of blood and immediately raised the alarm.
“She was unconscious with a severe throat injury. We quickly alerted the police,” the source recounted.
Another witness stated that security operatives responded swiftly and transported her to General Hospital, Hadejia, where doctors confirmed she had died.
Jigawa State police authorities have classified the case as a homicide and assured the public that efforts are underway to track down those responsible.
“We are treating this as a murder case, and an intensive investigation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits,” a police source stated.
