The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has reiterated the federal government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.
Speaking at the 4th edition of the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing Series on Thursday, March 13, at the National Press Centre, Abuja, the minister emphasized the importance of keeping Nigerians informed about government policies and initiatives.
The briefing, attended by key ministers, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, provided a platform for officials to present their achievements and engage directly with the media.
According to Idris, the initiative is a testament to the Tinubu administration’s dedication to open governance, ensuring that citizens remain actively involved in national development.
He commended the media for their role in disseminating information, acknowledging their contribution to fostering an informed and engaged public.
He further reassured Nigerians that the government remains committed to policies that will drive sustainable growth and development.
Addressing ongoing economic reforms, the minister acknowledged the initial hardships faced by citizens but assured them that the measures are yielding positive results.
He noted that food prices are reducing, exchange rates are stabilizing, and petroleum costs are gradually declining, reflecting the effectiveness of the administration’s policies.
Idris also called on religious leaders to use the sacred periods of Ramadan and Lent to pray for national peace, security, and prosperity.
He urged unity and faith, emphasizing that with collective effort, Nigeria would overcome its challenges and emerge stronger.
