Jandor meets Tinubu, Atiku, other political leaders after leaving PDP

Must read

Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has begun consultations with key political figures following his resignation from the party.

Jandor recently met with President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former President Ibrahim Babangida, and former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.

He also held discussions with Prince Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), along with other prominent political figures.

His spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, confirmed these meetings in a statement on Thursday, revealing that his discussion with President Tinubu took place on Monday.

Ogunleye further stated that Jandor is scheduled to meet with his political associates and key stakeholders in Lagos over the weekend.

He is also expected to address the media on Monday, March 17, 2025, to clarify his next steps.

Meanwhile, some PDP leaders, including the party’s National Secretary, have reached out to him in an attempt to dissuade him from leaving the party.

Although Jandor has yet to declare his next political move, he previously cited internal indiscipline and alleged anti-party activities as reasons for his departure.

He accused the PDP national leadership of undermining his campaign during the 2023 election, stating that a misleading last-minute alliance narrative redirected votes away from him and ultimately affected his chances of winning.
