The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly kidnapping an online vendor who had gone to deliver products in the Iyana-Ishashi area.
Confirming the incident on Monday at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that the victim was abducted while attempting to make a delivery.
“The victim received an order and proceeded to the customer’s location. Upon arrival, a man and a woman dragged her inside the house by force,” he explained.
According to Hundeyin, the suspects assaulted the vendor, stripped her, and took nude photographs before demanding a ransom of N2 million, threatening to leak the images if she failed to comply.
“The victim was forced to pay N300,000 on the spot before being released. The suspects continued to threaten her, insisting she must pay the balance,” he added.
Following a report by the victim, police tracked and arrested the suspects, who are now in custody as investigations continue.
