PDP reschedules zonal congresses across three regions

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved new dates for its previously postponed zonal congresses in the South South, South West, and North Central zones.

According to a statement by PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the South South zonal congress, originally postponed, will now take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Additionally, the congresses for the South West and North Central zones, initially set for March 22, 2025, have also been rescheduled to April 12, 2025.

The party announced that the congresses will be held simultaneously in three locations: Port Harcourt, Rivers State (South South); Ibadan, Oyo State (South West); and Jos, Plateau State (North Central).

During these events, party executives and national ex-officio members will be elected in accordance with the PDP’s constitution and guidelines.

The NWC urged all aspirants, party leaders, stakeholders, members, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the media to take note of the new date and prepare accordingly.
