Zaria to get seven new Federal Institutions in 2025 budget – Speaker Abbas

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has revealed that the Zaria Federal Constituency will benefit from the establishment of seven additional federal institutions under the 2025 budget.

Speaking at a Ramadan Iftar event in Zaria on Saturday, Tajudeen highlighted that the initiative is part of efforts to reinforce Zaria’s standing as a centre for higher education.

He outlined the institutions to be established, including the Federal College of Agriculture, the Federal Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Institute, and the Federal Technical College.

Others include the Centre for Management Development, the Technology Incubation Centre, a School for the Disabled (Primary and Secondary), and four new federal secondary schools.

The Speaker assured residents that more development projects aimed at directly benefiting the people would be executed in the upcoming fiscal year.

“With the 2025 budget now enacted, funds will soon be released for the scholarships of 2,500 underprivileged students in tertiary institutions.

Additionally, 4,000 more students will be included in the scheme,” he stated.

Tajudeen expressed appreciation for the unwavering support from his constituents, attributing his achievements in the National Assembly to their encouragement.

He also urged prayers for President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that such spiritual support could aid the government in addressing inflation and fostering economic growth.

He noted that the administration’s comprehensive strategy had led to a significant decline in insecurity.

In his remarks, the National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Garba-Datti Babawo, lauded Tajudeen for promoting inclusivity by ensuring collaboration among lawmakers, regardless of party affiliation, regional background, or sectional differences.

Babawo encouraged the Speaker to sustain his leadership approach, which he said fosters peace, progress, and unity within the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, political leaders, clerics, traditional rulers, business figures, and other key stakeholders in the Zaria Federal Constituency collectively passed a vote of confidence in the Speaker.
