JUST IN: Bandits attack Katsina community, injure two, rustle livestock

Must read

Guga community in Katsina State came under attack late last night as armed bandits invaded the area, injuring two residents and stealing a large number of cattle and other livestock.

According to Bakatsine, who disclosed the incident on his Twitter page, the attack occurred around 11 p.m.

The assailants stormed the village, ransacked houses, and carted away valuable livestock while causing panic among the residents.

“The bandits invaded Guga community late at night, leaving two people injured. They also stole a large number of cattle and livestock during the raid,” Bakatsine wrote.

Residents described the attack as terrifying, stating that the bandits operated freely without immediate resistance.

“We were helpless as they moved from house to house, stealing and causing destruction,” said a local who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons.

Security agencies have yet to release an official statement on the incident, but locals are calling for urgent intervention to curb the rising cases of insecurity in the region.

This attack adds to the growing concerns over banditry in parts of northern Nigeria, where rural communities frequently suffer similar invasions with devastating consequences.
