Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has responded to criticisms regarding his decision to operate from his private residence rather than the Government House.
The governor has faced opposition backlash over his choice to work from his Isiala Ngwa South residence.
Addressing the concerns, Otti explained that the Government House was left in an uninhabitable state by the previous administration and would require significant funds for renovation.
However, he emphasized that refurbishing the facility is not a priority, as his main focus is delivering governance and development to the people of Abia.
“Abians are more concerned about tangible progress, not where their governor resides,” he stated.
“What matters is providing good roads in Aba, Umuahia, and other local government areas. Ensuring cleanliness, improving healthcare facilities, and fixing schools are far more important than where I choose to operate from.”
Otti reiterated his commitment to service, assuring residents that his administration remains dedicated to addressing pressing infrastructural and social needs rather than spending resources on personal comfort.
