A somber atmosphere enveloped Uga in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State as three siblings tragically killed in Nnewichi, Nnewi North LGA, were buried on Saturday.
The heartbreaking loss left family members and the community in deep mourning.
The deceased children, Chikaima (9), Chimziterem (8), and Chimdirim (5), were members of the Ejezie family.
Their lives were cruelly taken on February 1, and their bodies were later discovered in a deep freezer.
The perpetrators of the crime remain unknown.
During a requiem mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, Archbishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, reflected on the biblical story of Cain and Abel, emphasizing that violence has existed since the beginning of time.
He described the slain children as martyrs, taken from the world far too soon.
