The Niger State Police Command has apprehended six individuals following a violent altercation between students of Annur Islamic Model School, Chaichainiya, and local youths in the Zuma Bread area of Suleja Local Government Area.

According to intelligence sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the confrontation erupted on March 6, 2025, around 9:11 p.m., shortly after the Tarawih prayer.

What began as a disagreement over romantic relationships quickly escalated into a large-scale fight.

Reports indicate that over 20 youths and students, allegedly led by Umar Idris, an SSS 3 student, stormed the area armed with dangerous weapons.

During the melee, gunshots were fired from an unidentified source, injuring two minors—11-year-old Immarana Hassan, who sustained a gunshot wound to the right thigh, and 10-year-old Nura Jibrin, who was hit in the left thigh.

Upon receiving an emergency call, police officers and vigilante groups were deployed to the scene, restoring order and transporting the injured victims to Suleja General Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, authorities have taken six suspects into custody and are working alongside school officials to track down other individuals believed to have orchestrated the attack.
