Must read

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted a mix of sunshine and haziness across the country from Saturday to Monday.

In its weather outlook released on Friday in Abuja, NiMet predicted that the northern and North Central regions would experience sunny and hazy conditions on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the southern part of the country is expected to have cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine in the morning, followed by thunderstorms later in the day over states including Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Edo, and Delta.

For Sunday, the agency projected that the North and North Central regions would remain under sunny and hazy conditions throughout the day. In the South, cloudy skies with sunny spells are expected, while thunderstorms may develop in parts of Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun, Edo, Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa states.

By Monday, NiMet expects the weather pattern to remain similar, with sunny and hazy conditions prevailing in the North and North Central regions.

The southern parts of the country will continue to experience cloudy skies in the morning, with thunderstorms anticipated in areas such as Lagos, Edo, Bayelsa, and Cross River later in the day.

The agency advised the public to take necessary precautions due to dust particles in the air, particularly those with respiratory conditions such as asthma.

It also warned that strong winds might precede rainfall in areas prone to thunderstorms, urging residents to remain vigilant.

NiMet encouraged airline operators to obtain weather reports for proper flight planning and advised the public to stay updated with weather information through its official website, www.nimet.gov.ng.
