Kano police arrest four suspected bandits, seize weapons, cash

Security operatives in Kano have apprehended four individuals linked to banditry and recovered a stash of weapons and cash, intelligence sources revealed.

According to sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the operation was carried out by police officers who acted on credible intelligence.

The raid took place on March 6, 2025, around 4:00 PM, targeting a suspected hideout.

The operation, led by the Officer-in-Charge of the Jarkuka Outpost under the Mariri Division, resulted in the arrest of four suspects: 25-year-old Shukurana Salihu, 35-year-old Rabi’u Dahiru, and 30-year-old Ya’u Idris, all from Katsina State, as well as Muktar Sani from Yandodo Hotoro Quarters, Kano State.

Authorities recovered a variety of weapons from the suspects, including three locally made revolver pistols, two cutlasses, twelve rounds of live ammunition of different calibres, three cartridges, four knives, and twenty-four pellets.

Additionally, officers seized four mobile phones and a vigilante group identity card.

Law enforcement officials emphasized their ongoing commitment to tackling criminal activities in the region.

In a separate operation, police recently apprehended three individuals suspected of car theft and recovered two stolen vehicles.

Investigations are still underway, and authorities confirmed that the suspects will face prosecution once inquiries are concluded.
