PDP group demands sanctions for members involved in anti-party activities

Must read

The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has called on the party’s leadership to take firm action against members engaged in activities that undermine the party’s unity and strength.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the group’s national coordinator, Obinna Nwachukwu, stressed the urgency of addressing internal conflicts to prevent them from weakening the party.

He urged the PDP’s national disciplinary committee to act swiftly on pending petitions, warning that delays in imposing sanctions could encourage further anti-party behavior.

Referencing Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), Nwachukwu highlighted the provisions for disciplinary measures against members involved in actions detrimental to the party’s interests.

He cautioned that unchecked misconduct, including disruptive legal battles and divisive remarks, could destabilize the party and harm its electoral prospects.

He called on party leaders to take decisive steps against individuals whose actions contradict the PDP’s principles and its vision for national progress.

Additionally, Nwachukwu commended PDP governors for their dedication to the party during this critical time.

He reassured members and supporters that the PDP remains strong and united, expressing confidence that the party will overcome its current challenges and emerge even stronger.
