Omokri asks Natasha to take lie detector test over harassment allegations

Must read

Former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, has called on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to undergo a lie detector test following her recent accusations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In a video shared on social media, Omokri claimed that Akpoti had previously made similar allegations against him in 2021, which he later disproved with evidence.

Recalling the incident, he stated: “On October 12, 2021, Natasha Akpoti had a disagreement with me, and afterward, she took to social media, accusing me of sexual harassment.

She alleged that the incident occurred during a state banquet hosted by President Goodluck Jonathan for then-Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta at Aso Rock on May 6, 2014.”

Omokri dismissed the claim, explaining that at the time of the alleged incident, he was in the United States on an assignment for President Jonathan following the abduction of the Chibok girls in April 2014.

He provided evidence, including passport stamps and flight tickets, proving he was not in Nigeria at the time.

“After I presented my travel records, Natasha deleted all traces of her accusation, including a video in which she insulted me, my wife, and my newborn daughter,” he stated.

Omokri also revealed that religious leaders later intervened, urging him to settle the matter out of court.

According to him, a financial settlement was made in his favor, and he moved on from the issue.

Drawing a parallel between his experience and the recent accusations against Akpabio, he said, “Now, four years later, Natasha has had a dispute with the Senate President and has again accused him of sexual harassment. It feels like history repeating itself.”

While noting that he could not confirm the validity of her latest claims, Omokri argued that her past actions should be considered.

He urged Nigerians to demand that Akpoti-Uduaghan take a lie detector test before making any judgments against Akpabio.

“Let her take the test, accompanied by one senator who supports her and another who remains neutral. Until she does, the presumption remains that she is acting based on past behavior,” he concluded.
