The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, stating that its response team successfully extricated two adult males from the debris while six injured individuals received immediate medical care before being transported to Marina General Hospital.

LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, revealed that the agency received distress calls through emergency lines at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday.

In response, teams from Lekki and Cappa bases were deployed and arrived at the scene by 2:48 p.m.

“The exact cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, heavy-duty equipment has been deployed for search and rescue operations,” Oke-Osanyintolu stated.

Rescue efforts are still underway, with officials working to ensure no victims remain trapped under the rubble.
