Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Tinubu, has addressed the controversy surrounding the sexual harassment allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking ahead of International Women’s Day, Senator Tinubu emphasized that the Senate is a respected institution that should be treated with maturity.
She expressed confidence that lawmakers are handling the situation properly, stating, “I believe the Senate is doing what is necessary.”
Having served in the Senate for 12 years, Tinubu encouraged women to take up leadership roles and not allow themselves to be sidelined.
She urged them to stand firm and assert their authority in political and professional spaces.
Her remarks come at a time when the Senate is under pressure to ensure a fair investigation into the allegations, with many calling for transparency in handling the matter.
