Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has on Thursday presented the instruments of office to the new Eleruwa of Eruwaland, Oba Adebayo Adegbola.
The presentation was done at the executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan.
Recalls that the State Executive Council at the ends of its meeting on Tuesday ratified the appointment of Oba Adegbola as the new Eleruwa.
Governor Makinde revealed that he approved appointment of Oba Adegbola as recommended by the King-makers for Eruwaland to return to the path of development.
While reaffirming that his administration will not interfere with the affair of traditional institutions, he charged other ruling parties to rather keep their money rather than heading to court.
The Governor highlighted his effort to resolve the issue since 2019, admitting that traditional rulers play vital roles in the security architecture and preservation of culture and heritage.
In his acceptance speech, the newly crowned Eleruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, pledged to work for the reconciliation of Eruwa people and join hands with other traditional rulers for the progress of the state.
Eleruwa stool has remained vacant since Ọba Adegbola who was installed in 1998 was deposed on 29th November, 2019 by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
