Man fatally stabbed during dispute at Borno IDP camp

A 30-year-old man, Aji Kawu, lost his life following a violent altercation at the RRR Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Monguno Local Government Area, Borno State.

The fatal incident occurred on the evening of March 5.

According to eyewitness accounts, Kawu got into an argument with another camp resident, Musa Ajit, around 8:10 p.m.

The disagreement escalated, leading Ajit to allegedly stab Kawu in the left shoulder with a knife.

Security personnel responded promptly, and the injured man was taken to Monguno General Hospital.

However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

His remains were later transferred to the hospital morgue for an autopsy before being handed over to his family for burial in line with Islamic customs.

Authorities have confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Musa Ajit, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
