A fatal accident occurred on Tuesday evening at Idemili Junction, near Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, when a truck carrying a 40-foot container lost control and rammed into a shuttle bus, several tricycles, and pedestrians.
Although the exact number of casualties has yet to be confirmed, many are feared dead.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra, Margaret Onabe, acknowledged the incident but stated that she was awaiting a detailed report from officers at the scene.
She assured that updates would be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
According to eyewitness accounts, the truck reportedly suffered brake failure while coming down a hill, leading the driver to lose control.
