The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims that it has set a date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs).
A statement released on Tuesday by Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, clarified that no official date has been announced for these services.
The false report had suggested that INEC would resume voter registration and PVC replacement on May 27, 2025.
However, the Commission urged the public to disregard the misinformation and rely only on official sources for accurate updates.
“Our attention has been drawn to a misleading report circulating that INEC will restart the Continuous Voter Registration and the replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards on May 27, 2025. This claim is false.
The Commission has not fixed any date for the resumption of CVR,” the statement read.
INEC reassured the public that any updates on voter registration and related services would be communicated through official channels.
