Security operatives from the Amotekun Corps, Efon-Alaaye Command, have transferred a 43-year-old woman, Damilola Clement, to the police for allegedly striking her nine-year-old son on the head with a pestle.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Amotekun’s Head of Communications, Adewale Adeleye, and made available to journalists in Ekiti.
According to the statement, the incident took place at the suspect’s residence in Efon-Alaaye, Ekiti State. Clement, who is originally from Akure, Ondo State, allegedly attacked her son during a dispute over an undisclosed issue.
The statement further revealed that the suspect admitted to the act, claiming she intended to discipline the child for repeated misbehavior.
Following the incident, the suspect was handed over to the Efon-Ekiti Police Division for further investigation, while the injured child is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital in the town.
