Troops rescue abducted lecturer, intensify manhunt for suspects

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully freed Dr. Yohanna Mallo, a lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Pankshin, who was abducted by gunmen on March 1.

According to intelligence sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama on Tuesday, the rescue operation was carried out in coordination with other security agencies.

“The victim, Dr. Yohanna Mallo, has been rescued, debriefed, and reunited with his family,” the source confirmed.

Security forces have launched follow-up operations to track down the abductors who managed to escape.

Meanwhile, authorities have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities that could aid ongoing investigations.

Operation Safe Haven, a multi-agency security task force responsible for maintaining peace in Plateau, as well as parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, reaffirmed its commitment to addressing security challenges and ensuring public safety.
