A coordinated response by the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) prevented a potential explosion and looting following a petrol tanker accident in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours along the Jalingo-Wukari Road, prompted immediate action from security agencies after they were alerted.

Officers swiftly arrived at the crash site, securing the area and temporarily closing the road to mitigate any risk of an explosion.

The petrol container from the damaged tanker was later safely transferred to another vehicle.

Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer SP Usman Abdullahi and NSCDC spokesperson SC Sam Illiya confirmed that their personnel were promptly deployed to manage the situation.

SC Sam Illiya further stated that the NSCDC Commandant personally led his team to the scene, ensuring the area remained under control.
