Lagos Govt arrest hoodlums targeting pedestrians on closed Oshodi bridge

The Lagos State Government has taken action against individuals extorting money from pedestrians attempting to use the closed Oshodi Bridge.

Earlier reports indicated that a large number of commuters were forced to rely on an alternative pedestrian bridge in Oshodi due to the shutdown of the main bridge connecting Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3.

Authorities ordered its closure in January over safety and structural concerns.

Following the circulation of viral videos and images highlighting severe congestion on the alternative bridge, the government reassured the public that measures were being implemented to ease the situation.

Addressing the issue of extortion, the state’s Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, confirmed that perpetrators had been arrested.
