Aminu Jaji, a federal lawmaker representing Zamfara under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has welcomed Muhammad Kabir-Sani, the former governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, into the party’s fold.
Kabir-Sani defected alongside members of the Ex-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly Candidates’ Forum, bringing along their supporters.
Their decision to join the APC was facilitated by the Jajiyya APC political movement, led by Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka.
Announcing their move during a meeting with Jaji at his residence in Gusau, the former AAC candidate expressed satisfaction with the lawmaker’s leadership and developmental strides across the state.
He stated that their decision was based on the tangible achievements recorded by Jaji in his constituency and Zamfara as a whole.
Similarly, Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, representing the PDP forum, emphasized that their defection was driven by APC’s dominance in Zamfara politics.
He noted that after engaging in meaningful discussions with Jaji, they resolved to align with the party and contribute to the state’s progress.
Welcoming the new members, Jaji, who also chairs the House Committee on Ecological Fund, hailed their decision as a significant boost for the APC.
He assured them of fair treatment and active participation in party affairs to strengthen its presence in the state.
He further urged the defectors to remain dedicated to the party’s growth and assured them that their political experience would be valuable in advancing the APC’s objectives.
Speaking on behalf of the Jajiyya movement, Ajiya-Anka described the group as a formidable political force with strong structures across all 14 local government areas of Zamfara.
He assured the defectors of full inclusion in the party’s activities and encouraged them to foster unity and stability within the APC.
