Armed bandits, in the early hours of Sunday, invaded an off-campus student residence in Dutsin-Ma town, Katsina State, abducting four students of the Federal University of Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA).
Security analyst Bakatsine revealed the incident on his Twitter page, calling for urgent government intervention.
“It is heartbreaking that students can no longer feel safe even in their residences. Authorities must act fast to rescue them,” he tweeted.
Residents reported that the attackers stormed the area around 2 a.m., firing sporadically before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.
A local source, speaking anonymously, said, “The gunmen operated for nearly an hour without resistance.”
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but security forces are reportedly mobilizing efforts to track the kidnappers.
The attack has heightened concerns over the worsening insecurity in northern Nigeria, with calls for stronger measures to protect students.
