The Katsina State Hisbah Board has mandated the closure of all private schools in the state throughout the month of Ramadan.
The religious enforcement agency, which operates under Islamic principles, cautioned that any institution failing to comply with the directive would face consequences.
In a statement released on Thursday, the board’s Commander-General, Malam Aminu Usman, confirmed that the decision aligns with instructions from the state government.
He urged school proprietors to adhere strictly to the order, explaining that the suspension of academic activities would allow students to fully participate in the fasting period.
“The directive also applies to extra lessons,” the statement concluded.
